KIAMBETHU TEA FARM

Just a short drive from the heart of Nairobi, Kiambethu Farm at Limuru provides a tranquil insight into life on a settler farm.

Kiambethu was bought and farmed by McDonnell in 1910. He was the first person to grow, make and sell tea commercially in Kenya’s biggest exports.

This farm is run by his granddaughter Fiona Vernon.

It is surrounded by acres of tea and indigenous forest – home of colobus monkeys and plenty of other wildlife.
