Day 01 : Arrival in Nairobi
This stunning Kenya Highlights nine-day safari begins in Nairobi, the most cosmopolitan city in East Africa. If you arrive early enough, other extra excursions are available, including those to the famed National Museum and the sights in the neighbouring area of Karen, including Karen Blixen’s home and Giraffe Manor. Giraffe Manor attracts giraffes, as its name suggests. They were seen sticking their heads into the dining area, which is a very rare event. At 20:00, all clients should convene for a pre-departure meeting. This gathering will allow you to meet your fellow travellers and get acquainted with your guides. In Nairobi, you will be met by a representative who will help with your overnight lodging arrangements.
Day 02 : Nairobi to Mount Kenya
You leave the city and travel north to your campsite at the foot of Mount Kenya (5,199 m), which is Africa’s second-highest mountain after Mount Kilimanjaro. You are welcome to spend as much time as you want during the afternoon exploring the forest that lies at the base of Mount Kenya. This area is well known for the variety of birds and monkeys that call it home, including the black-and-white Colobus. You will be provided with lunch and dinner, and you will spend the night at the Mountain Rock Bantu Lodge or a campsite that is identical to it.
Day 03 - 04 : Samburu National Reserve
The Samburu National Reserve is located on the banks of the Uaaso Nyiro River in Kenya. This indicates that there is plenty of water, trees, and shade, which will attract wildlife from the neighbouring savannah plains, such as elephants, lions, giraffes, and zebras. Leopards are also often seen. The Uaaso Nyiro River has some of the biggest crocodiles in the world. These reptiles, measuring over 6 metres (20 feet) from snout to tail, are one of the most stunning sights along the river. On the route to your campsite, you will go on a game drive. On the fourth day of your Kenya safari, you will embark on a morning game drive before returning to camp for lunch. Both of these game drives will occur prior to your lunch. After an afternoon game drive, during which the temperature has fallen, you return to the lodge to make supper. Our overnight accommodations will consist of camping. All three meals are included: breakfast, lunch, and supper.
Day 05 : Thompson's Falls
You will arrive at Thompson’s Falls around lunchtime on the fifth day of your Kenya Highlights safari. The afternoon is yours to explore the waterfalls, which are especially stunning during the wet season. The waterfalls are 75 metres tall. Thomson Falls Lodge camping will accommodate you and provide breakfast, lunch, and supper.
Day 06 : Lake Nakuru National Park
After spending the fifth day at Thompson’s Falls, you will continue on the sixth day of your Kenya Highlights safari by travelling via the Kenana Knitters or the local school. You are going to travel to Lake Nakuru National Park, which is famous for the up to 2 million flamingos that frequent there to feed on the rich algae over the several seasons. The park is especially well-known for its leopards, and since it is a rhino sanctuary, frequent sightings of black and white rhinos, as well as lions and buffalo, are commonplace. Leopards are not the only animals that can be seen in the park, though. This vacation to Kenya involves going on a safari in one of the national parks there. camping at Kembu Campsite or a similar campsite. There will be provisions made available for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Day 07 - 08 : Masai Mara Game Reserve
The Masai Mara Game Reserve is renowned for its abundance of wildlife, including the “Big Five” and 453 bird species. It is one of Africa’s most visited reserves. The plains of this national reserve are mostly open savannah, dotted with areas of acacia woodland and riparian forest along the Mara River. The best time to visit the Mara is late July or early August, when over one million wildebeest and tens of thousands of zebra migrate from the Serengeti. The stunning river crossings are a brutal display of natural selection. You will tent here for two nights and enjoy early morning game drives before returning for a late breakfast or lunch. It is time to contemplate and unwind during the hottest portion of the day, followed by an afternoon game drive. On the last evening of your Kenya safari, you will dine around a campfire while listening to the sounds of the open wilderness. Camping will take place outside Sekenani Gate or a comparable location. There will be breakfast, lunch, and supper provided.
Day 09: Masai mara to Nairobi
You will have a full breakfast before breaking down your tent and travelling back to Nairobi. Your trip will come to a conclusion at around midday in Nairobi. This brings an end to the highlights of your safari in Kenya.
Explore the vast savannahs of East Africa on a safari customized to your preferences, whether it’s encountering the Big Five in Tanzania’s famous wildlife parks, or visiting the Rhino sanctuaries of Kenya.
“We had a wonderful experience with Joseph and our tour guide, Sam. He was extremely knowledgable about the history and culture of the region, and gave us an immersive experience in the Ol Pejeta conservancy. He always went the extra mile to ensure that we had a high quality and valuable Safari experience.”
“We made a 6-hour stop in Nairobi and decided to visit the park. The group is super organized and respects the time of pick up and drop off. The guide was attentive to our needs and made us discover the nature of the park. He explained anecdotes about animals and park. A wonderful place just a few steps from the airport that we loved!”
“I had a private tour with my guide Jo. My tour included Nairobi Safari Walk, Karen Blixen Museum and Bomas of Kenya. This was my second private tour with Jo.
